SCUBA show to be sponsored by Wyland Worldwide The upcoming SCUBA show is in partnereship with Wyland worldwide and I really didn't know who Robert Wyland is. Here's the story:
20 years ago a young man from Michigan sees a pair of whales barely 100 yards offshore on his first visit to the Pacific Ocean. He is so inspired that he devotes the rest of his life to creating art that captures the beauty of these magnificent creatures.
An estimated one billion people on four continents now see the biggest environmentally themed public art project in history, Wylands Whaling Walls, every year. He has painted mammoth murals including monumental mural "Hands Across The Ocean," which spans a half-mile, seven-block length on the Washington DC National Mall..
Whaling Wall #100 'Hands Across the Ocean' by the artist Wyland, 54 panels, painted in Chaoyang Park,Beijing, China for the 2008 Green Olympics. Thousands of children helped Wyland over a two week period, and the mural features habitats and wildlife of all 205 Olympic-member countries.
